Hollywood has arrived in The Motor City, so it’s time to prepare for your debut! If you’d like to pursue an acting career but don’t know where to start, who to call or what to do to, attend this one day workshop to get the 4-1-1 on everything you need to know to jumpstart your acting career without leaving Michigan!

Thanks to new State legislation, the motion picture industry is moving in quickly and will soon need trained cast and crew on set, and that’s where you, Casting Motor City and this one-day intensive workshop come in.

Led by established Casting Director Kathy McKee (61*, Hardball, 8 Mile), Specs grad Ross Marroso (actor/writer/ director) and Ed Gardiner (local event/film producer), Actors 411 Workshop will empower you with the practical knowledge you need to break into showbiz without breaking a leg, leaving town, or worse yet — looking like an amateur!

TOPICS INCLUDE HOW TO:

• Market yourself (your resume, headshot, look and personality).
  
• Prepare for auditions (cold/prepared reads, dynamics & attire).
  
• Earn your way into the unions (SAG/AFTRA).
  
• Get an agent.
  
• Make friends with casting directors.
  
• Manage expectations, find work and succeed!

The cost of the 6-hour workshop is only $99! Students may sign up at Specs Howard's front desk. Checks, cash and money orders will be accepted. Deadline to register is Friday, June 6 at 5 PM.
