Thanks to new State legislation, the motion picture industry is moving in quickly and will soon need trained cast and crew on set, and that’s where you, Kathy McKee Casting and this one-day intensive workshop come in.
Led by established Casting Director Kathy McKee (61*, Hardball, 8 Mile), Actors 411 Workshop will empower you with the practical knowledge you need to break into showbiz without breaking a leg, leaving town, or worse yet — looking like an amateur!

In just four sessions, you’ll master the the art of successful screenwriting - including Final Draft - the industry learning screenwriting software. This is your chance to learn proper formant and techniques that Hollywood studios look for!
Not only will Ross teach you how to create a plot, characters and dialog, he’ll also share his personal tips on how to earn credit, notoriety and money once your screenplay is finished.

The Michigan Production Alliance (MPA) regularly presents an event to promote the education of entry-level media professionals by offering a one-day seminar on Production Assistant skills and ethics. The seminar, is split into two 1.5 hour sessions usually from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Session 1 - Lecture
The lecture will provide more than just an overview of what is expected of Production Assistants on both film and video sets. It will include a production equipment overview as well as set and client etiquette. There will be a discussion about local production companies, organizations and unions and the different resources they have to offer.
Session 2 - Moderated Discussion
A panel of local producers, coordinators and assistant directors will discuss their experiences on the set and expectations from crew members during production and post-production. The discussion will be followed by a question and answer session.
