Prospective students are provided a consultation with a financial aid officer to assist in the financial aid process. You are able to sit down with a financial aid officer one-on-one, and get the attention you need to create a plan best suited to your individual needs; most financial aid candidates leave knowing exactly what they qualify for the same day.

HOW TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID
If you are beginning class within 4 weeks or less, you may contact the Financial Aid Office immediately at (248) 358-9000 to submit the form in the Financial Aid Office.
Step 1: Apply for a PIN Number
Before beginning the FAFSA, you should apply for a U.S. Department of Education personal identification number (PIN) at www.pin.ed.gov. Students (and Parents for dependent students) must apply for a PIN (parent's must apply for their own PIN). The PIN is the code that the U.S. Department of Education uses to identify you online. The PIN allows you to sign the FAFSA form electronically. It takes about three days to receive a PIN via e-mail.
Step 2: Assemble forms needed to complete the FAFSA form
You will need the following information listed below:
- Social Security Number and Driver's License (if any)
- Alien registration card (if not a U.S. citizen)
- 2006 Federal 1040 Form for you and your parent(s) if applicable
- 2006 Untaxed income records (if any, such as Child
- Support, Social Security, Disability, Unemployment Compensation)
- Current Bank Statements
- Current investment records (if any)

Step 3: Complete the FAFSA Form
Complete the FAFSA on the web at www.fafsa.ed.gov
Step 4: Review Your Student Aid Report (SAR)
Your application will be processed and you will receive an e-mail with a link to your Student Aid Report (SAR). If you did not provide an e-mail address, you will receive your SAR by mail.
Step 5: Contact the Financial Aid Office
All students are required to submit the following information:
- A copy of your valid Driver's License or State I.D. and a signed copy of your Social Security Card.
- If applicable, a copy of your (and/or your parents) Green Card if you are an eligible non-citizen.
- Required financial aid forms. Contact the Financial Aid Office at (248) 358-9000 in order to find out what types of Financial Aid you are eligible for. The Financial Aid Officer will explain what information and forms you will need to bring to your Financial Aid Appointment.
