Courtney's career has led her to Southwest Connecticut where she's now covering local news for 12 News Networks, the largest regional news network in the country. The cable exclusive 24-hour news channel is like CNN on a local level. In addition to Connecticut, 12 News is currently available in Long Island, NY; the Bronx; Westchester, NY; and New Jersey.

What have been some of the highlights of your career?

Getting the opportunity to do things that I wouldn't otherwise be able to: meeting and interviewing presidential candidates, riding in a stunt plane, scuba diving.

Who has influenced you the most in your career?

Many of the Reporter and Anchors and WXYZ-TV, the station in which I interned during my time at Specs. Also, many of my teachers, especially those at the Specs Howard School.

What would you consider is the largest challenge in your business today?
The fact that I am essentially a "dime a dozen". There is a real struggle to make yourself stand out and be different.

What is the largest hurdle you've had to face to get where you are now?
There are lots of white, blondes in this industry who are just as good, if not better, than myself.
