Ah... the indignities one must suffer when they've celebrated 50 years in this crazy business. Not only do you get turned into a bobblehead, somebody gets the bright idea you'd look cute dressed up like a garden gnome!

"Long-haired, noble-faired leaping gnome" has been a Kernen-ism for years (it's also lyrics from a song) so the staff will have to be forgiven for their enthusiasm, I guess.

Anyway, getting back to my blog, think of it as Uncle Kernen's brag book. It's a chance to tell your story so don't be a stranger. Send the placement department an update; send me your letters, news and industry photos.

There isn't a Specs Howard grad that hasn't heard about "Uncle Kernen's Clue Bus." While many students are often rattled by the wake-up call that the placement department's Dick Kernen provides in their early days at the school, many discover an appreciation for his wisdom once they've graduated and experienced the broadcast business themselves.
