Your favorite employer/student success story: One of my first placements for an internship was for 89X. I got a few references from instructors. Then this student walked into my office saying he was looking for an internship and he "wowed me" and I passed on his name to the powers to be at 89X. Not only did they give him an internship he was hired at CKLW their sister station!
